Mums are the very best thing that ever happened to anyone — literally. Above all, they are sweet, loving and in some cases, they are even known to still do your washing when you’re 35+ years old.

So, we hope you’ll agree (we feel it goes without saying) when Mother’s Day rolls around, Mums deserve the very best treatment in the form of both gifts and tasty dining experiences!

The Valley Estate
As if Currumbin Valley wasn’t gorgeous enough, prepare to fall in love with the soon-to-open-its-doors, The Valley Estate wedding venue. Getting in on the Mother’s Day action, the venue is hosting an elegant celebration with a French-inspired Mother’s Day event. Experience the luxury setting as you listen to a grand piano, sip on champagne and taste through a five-course lunch ($155pp) or dinner ($170pp) — you decide!

Citrique Restaurant
How about a seafood Long Lunch for Mum showcasing locally harvested seafood for the ultimate sea-to-table experience at the newly renovated JW Marriott Resort & Spa? Feast on Pacific oysters, Mooloolaba tiger prawns, Blue Swimmer crabs, Moreton Bay bugs, spanner crab, green lip mussels and Hervey bay scallops to your hearts content. Sanctuary Cove Country Club
As if Sanctuary Cove wasn’t a drawcard in itself with all the boutique shopping and eateries you could ever wish for, they have a Mother’s Day event worth stopping what you’re doing. Join the fun at their Botanical Room with mimosas and breakfast,with a bespoke watercolour painting workshop led by Sandy Cousens from The Calm Studio. Starting at 9am the event will feature a light continental style breaky followed by an intimate watercolour session which will see you take home your very own painting as memento from the day, tickets are $120pp.

Cucina Vivo
Treat Mum to a decadent Italian feast for lunch this Mother’s Day with an indulgent Italian three-course shared menu, a glass of sparkling rosé on arrival and a special gift for the lady of the day. $66pp for adults or $117 including beverages. Book here.

Enjoy live music and take in the stunning panoramic views from the 21st floor while feasting on freshly baked scones, French pastries, gourmet sandwiches, a glass of sparkling wine and unlimited filtered coffee and tea. Yamagen
Yamagen will open it’s doors for Mother’s Day with an exclusive 7 course omakase menu including a glass of champagne on arrival for Mum and a surprise gift. Dine on Yamagen favourites such as hokkaido scallops, thinly sliced snapper and sashimi tacos. Tickets are $90pp and a special kids menu is available for $40pp here.

The Club at ParkwoodIf a lavish high tea is in order for the special lady in your life, then look no further than The Club at Parkwood. Impress Mum with biscuits, baked goods and desserts galore — as well as champagne on arrival. Kids are kindly taken care of with their very own munchkins menu, and there is the option for a bottomless bellini beverage package! Chapter & Verse
Indulge in Chapter & Verse award-winning high tea, a resort tradition created by the culinary team using local ingredients sourced from the Gold Coast Hinterland. Indulge in a variety of both sweet and savoury dishes with crafted pastries, seasonal and locally sourced fruits and gourmet sandwiches, in addition to freshly baked scones with double cream and homemade jams. Panorama Lounge
Panorama is the perfect place to spoil Mum this Mother’s Day with a delectable high tea. Pearls Bar
Show Mum just how much you care with a decadent Mother’s Day High Tea buffet. Complete with a selection of sweet and savoury treats, the menu includes finger sandwiches, quiches, a gourmet cheese selection and a variety of crafted cakes. Of course, no afternoon tea is complete without freshly baked scones served with blackberry jam and whipped cream. And the team at Hideaway are doing exactly that by offering 2 sittings on Mother’s Day with a 12-2pm or 2-4pm session where you and mum can enjoy the full a la carte menu with the option for a $60pp 2 hour drink package plus Mumm Champagne cocktail specials. Chocolate. Obviously. But not just any old chocolate, the very best kind. Little Cocoa are the creators of artisan chocolate pralines, and let us tell you; they are the goods. Team those with Paneski spirits, an artisan distillery with strong polish roots knocking up some fabulous handcrafted traditional style drinks and you get cute Mother’s Day gift boxes that are sure to get you out of cleaning up your room!

Grit CeramicsIf locally made ceramics haven’t changed your life yet, allow us to drain your wallet quick smart. One such brand of absolute ceramic gold is Grit Ceramics who create the prettiest of plates, keep cups, bowls etc., in all your favourite Autumn hues (think navy, grey and turquoise). My French Pastries
If you haven’t tried some of the heavenly treats from this Robina-based patisserie, then you haven’t lived! The approach taken by this small bakery is to do everything with simplicity and with only the finest ingredients. Creating French-inspired baked goodness, you have to see to believe. This May, they are putting together special Mother’s Day boxes that include a small collection of artisan-made treats, including éclair, Mille-feuille and macaroons — there’s even an ever so small bottle of bubbles as well. Parfait!

Grandad Jacks
If Mum is the type of person who doesn’t mind a drink or two, then Grandad Jacks’ Pink-on-Pink Gin is the perfect gift. Brought out only once a year for Mother’s Day, the distillery has lovingly put together a Mother’s Day gift pack that is sure to impress. The box is full of all sorts of goodies, and of course, a 500ml bottle of the Pink-on-Pink Gin is the main attraction — make sure your Mum knows it was you who got her this fantastic present when she decides to open that bottle.
